Having studied at Musicians Institute, Pat began his professional career in the UK's Brighton and London scenes. On immersing himself working and playing in music stores and local bands his early career led to session call-ups and by 19 years old with a DIY album (Brave New World) under his belt, he spent subsequent years in the European AOR resurgence as guitarist for Hugo Valenti (ex-Valentine/Open Skyz) and Danny Vaughn (Tyketto) and support slots with Peter Frampton (Comes Alive II - 1995), Winger, Firehouse, Ted Poley, (Danger Danger), culminating as a guitarist with Furyon, and toured with the band in support of the debut album 'Gravitas' produced by Rick Beato. He has performed at major festivals including Download, Hard Rock Hell and Bloodstock Open Air.
Upon opening in 2002, Pat was invited onto the guitar faculty of the Brighton Institute of Modern Music alongside Bruce Dickinson (founder), Phil Hilbourne and Guthrie Govan. Having spent 19 years holding major positions at BIMM, Pat is now the Head of Performance at WaterBear (the college of music) in Sheffield and is among some of the most respected and experienced music tutors in the UK. He has played on 9 worldwide releases including; 'Warmth in the Wilderness, A tribute to Jason Becker', and has two self produced rock-fusion albums and is an artist and ambassador with the ESP Guitar company, creating and producing the 'ESP School of Metal Guitar' video series.
Pat has written music for UK terrestrial TV and been a columnist for Guitar Techniques Magazine and Guitar World, as well as appearing at major UK festivals and international music EXPOs including the NAMM show.
Pat resides in Derbyshire where he runs his own studio and works between the UK, Los Angeles and Europe.
